Islamic Marriage and Its Sheer Beauty
An Islamic marriage is very important in its culture and religion. Marriage and family are the most important things in a Muslim's life. The Koran mentions two types of marriages. It is considered to be a social contract between a man and a woman. Unlike many others, this religion considers man and women equal.A woman can even propose marriage to a man or through an intermediary as per Islamic law. The laws of marriage however does not mean that a man and woman have to be compulsorily together for life. Divorce is recognized by the religion and they have a ceremony during marriage where the husband will pay dowry towards the wife. It can be any amount.
Sometimes a woman may be deserted by her husband or they may mutually agree to separate. In such situations the money will help the woman financially. Most often the man will pay the woman in the form of cash. Others would pay in the form of property and also a running business which the woman can run on her own if she wants to.
In an Islamic marriage by Islamic law, it is always agreed that all work will be divided equally by the man and woman. The man will provide financially for the woman and the woman will take care of the children and home and also provide food. Many men prefer their wives to be well educated.
Many Muslim women seek higher education and always prefer to do a lot more work outside their homes. They may even contribute to their society in several ways. However they have to adhere to the rules about their dress code. They also cannot shun responsibilities after their marriage especially concerning their children.
A Muslim marriage condemns the union of two people of the same sex. Islamic law does not recognize this kind of marriage and it frowns upon homosexuality and also bisexuality. A Muslim woman f she works after marriage, can keep her earnings to herself and need not contribute any to the house.
Islamic law has not forbidden women to marry from any other culture like a Jew or Christian, but in today's world, in Islamic culture they insist upon a woman's marriage to a Muslim man. The Nikah Mutah law stated in an Islamic marriage is the second type of marriage.
But this is disputed over the by several Muslim members. They think that this law was abolished. This law basically states that the man need not take full responsibility for the woman, and the woman can leave the house whenever she wants. An Islamic marriage is usually forced upon men who can afford to marry.
In a Muslim society, there is an unwritten law that all people in their community are required to follow the rules of Islam. Adults disapprove of youngsters behaving inappropriately and doing things against the writings of the Koran. This is one reason why elders prefer to select the bride's groom and vice versa.
